Malaysian Football League (MFL) announced the 2024-2025 Super League competition schedule involving matches from week 1 to week 13 (LS1 – LS13) to enable Malaysian League clubs to make early preparations for the new season.
The match schedule involves the matches of 13 clubs that will compete in the Liga Super Malaysia 2024/25, however, if the independent body, First Instance Body (FIB) decides that only 12 clubs are eligible to compete in the Malaysian League this season, the MFL will update the calendar and the competition schedule. A complete Malaysian league for one season.
As for the kick-off time for the match schedule that has been released, it will only be updated as soon as confirmation is received from the official MFL broadcaster.
This scheduling planning has taken into account the following points:
i. The 2023 FIFA Calendar involving National Team training (FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers);
i. AFC Champions League Elite (ACLE) competition;
iii. AFC Champions League 2 (ACL2) competition;
iv. ASEAN Club Championship (Shopee Cup);
v. 2025 AFC U20 competition qualifying round;
i. Mitsubishi Electric AFF Cup Competition 2024;
vii. 2024 Olympic Games;
viii. Malaysia Sports Championship (SUKMA), Sarawak 2024;
ix. Logistics movement and VAR operations;
x. Match venue sharing (Super League and MFL Cup);
xi. Rest periods and club trips.
xi. Federal and State General Release Day 2024/25 issued by the Prime Minister’s Department.
Meanwhile, the Sumbangsih Match, Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Cup 2024 will take place on 10 May 2024.
As in previous seasons, this match is the first match for the Liga Super Malaysia Competition where the collection of match points will be counted as points in the Liga Super Malaysia 2024/25.
This Sumbangsih match will bring together Johor Darul Ta’Zim (Champion of Super League 2023) with Selangor FC (Runner-up of Super League 2023).
The venue of the match is at the venue of the Liga Super Malaysia champion club in 2023 which is the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium.
Meanwhile, the determination of the winner of this Donation Match will be determined according to the following order:
a. The winning Club in the Match at full time, and in the event of a draw;
b. The club that wins the shootout from the penalty mark follows FIFA’s laws of the game.
c. Points will only be counted according to the full time result (90 minutes) of the match.
Meanwhile for the Piala FA Malaysia 2024 Competition the match dates are as follows:
i. Round of 16 Teams : 13 – 15 June 2024
ii. Quarter Final I : 28 – 30 June 2024
iii. Quarter Final II : 4 – 6 July 2024
iv. Semi-Final I : 20 – 21 July 2024
v. Semi-Final II : 3 – 4 August 2024
vi. End : 24 August 2024
Piala FA Malaysia 2024 Competition Format will be announced after confirmation by the FIB regarding the number of clubs that will compete in the Liga Malaysia 2024/25.
The schedule and format of the Piala Malaysia and MFL Challenge Cup will only be announced after confirmation by the FIB regarding the number of clubs that will compete in the 2024/25 Malaysia League. While the schedule and format of the MFL Cup competition will be announced in the near future.
