Uzbekistan Football Association (UFA) issued a statement that Igor Sergeev, a striker from BG Pathum United, would like to withdraw from the squad for the AFC Asian Cup 2023 due to an injury.
Igor was named as a substitute in the game that was tied with the Australia national team 1-1 in Group Stage, Group B last night, before being sent onto the field in the 63rd minute to replace Abbosbek Fayzullayev before suffering an injury. And was substituted in the 84th minute.
After that, UFA stated in a statement that Igor had a severe injury to his right knee. And must undergo surgery soon.
and this injury may affect the agency like BG Pathum United during the second leg of Thai League 1 in the 2023/24 season; he scored 5 goals from 15 appearances in the first leg and is currently the team’s top scorer.
