With a two-goal cushion, Mexico demonstrated maturity and confidence, dictating possession, controlling the tempo and limiting Czechia’s attacking opportunities.
One of the most emotional moments of the evening came in the 78th minute, when legendary goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa entered the match to a thunderous standing ovation.
Competing in his sixth FIFA World Cup, Ochoa was greeted by a sea of applause from the Mexican faithful, who recognised his extraordinary contribution to the national team over the years.
