Bangkok United head coach Totchtawan Sripan confidence ahead of their AFC Champions League Two 2025/26 Group G Matchday 5 showdown against Selangor FC tomorrow.
Bangkok United need at least only one point in this match for officially seal the ticket to the Round of 16.
Speaking with composure and confidence, Totchtawan confirmed his squad is regaining fitness after the FIFA international break:
“Many players are close to full fitness again, though some are still not ready to start. The confidence from beating Lion City Sailors home and away has lifted the team significantly.”
“This is an important home match. One point guarantees we go through — but it won’t be easy. Our target remains the same as always: play to win and take all three points.”
Despite beating Selangor in Shah Alam earlier in the campaign, Coach Ban insists there will be no complacency:
“We never underestimated Selangor, even in the first match. Every team in this group is strong, with many foreign players. Selangor may have changed their coach, but their quality is still dangerous.”
He highlighted the Malaysian club’s mix of imports and national-team stars, calling them fully capable of challenging Bangkok United:
“We don’t think Selangor will take it easy just because they cannot progress. They will want three points as well. This will be a difficult match — and we cannot afford to be careless.”
Tochtawan also dismissed any suggestion of scoreboard watching:
“We are not paying attention to the other game between Lion City Sailors and Persib Bandung. Whether we qualify first or second is not the focus. Our goal is simply to reach the Round of 16.”
Left winger Kantaphon Keereelang, 24, expressed strong confidence heading into the match:
“We are very ready for tomorrow. Scoring in the league recently helped unlock my confidence and release a lot of pressure.”
