Johor Darul Ta’Zim reached to semi-final after beating Negeri Sembilan FC with a score of 4-1 in the Piala Malaysia 2023 Quarter-Final at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, Iskandar Puteri.
JDT didn’t wait long to open a net account after Juan Muniz’s cross in the sixth minute was right at Bergson Da Silva who had time to fly to head the ball to beat Negeri Sembilan FC’s goalkeeper, Firdaus Irman Fadhil.
Bergson’s venomous touch continued to shine when he scored his second personal goal again with a header in the 11th minute after receiving Muniz’s free kick and put the South Tiger squad at ease with a 2-0 position and 5-0 on aggregate.
Muniz, who was the main designer of the first two goals, also created the third goal for the JDT in the 29th minute after a free kick from 25 meters to the left corner of the goal killed Firdaus Irman.
K Devan’s squad’s counterattack in the 39th minute succeeded in producing a goal resulting from Mahali Jasuli’s ball movement on the left wing acting quickly to pass the ball to Zamri Pin Ramli who didn’t wait long when he hit the fast ball to kill Farizal even though the goal angle was very narrow.
Continuing the second half, Solari brought on Fernando Forestirie Diogo Luis Santo and Arif Aiman Hanapi to strengthen the attack line and the involvement of these three players brought pressure on the fortress of the Hobin Jang Hobin squad which began to act locally in their own area.
However, Forestieri again found the finishing touch after a long break due to injury when finishing Diogo’s pass to beat substitute goalkeeper, Sikh Izhan Sikh Azman in the final minute of the game.
