Buriram United have officially announced the departure of head coach Osmar Loss Vieira, ending his 1 year and 4 months in charge since joining the club in June 2024.
During his tenure, the Brazilian tactician led Buriram United in 72 matches, maintaining an impressive 2.24 points per game average, and guided the team through both domestic and international campaigns with consistent performances.
Loss, who previously managed Persepolis FC in the Iranian Pro League, took over the Thunder Castle with a clear vision of tactical discipline and attacking football, helping to shape Buriram into one of Thailand’s most balanced sides.
In an official statement posted on the club’s social media channels, Buriram United expressed gratitude toward the departing coach:
“Buriram United would like to thank Osmar Loss Vieira, the head coach who led this club to success and created many joyful moments with the team.”
The club also confirmed that Emerson Pereira da Silva, a long-serving member of Buriram’s coaching staff, has been appointed as interim head coach while the management evaluates long-term options.
“Emerson Pereira da Silva has been appointed from within the club to take on the responsibility as interim head coach of Buriram United,” the statement read.
Buriram United now turn their focus to the upcoming AFC Champions League Elite (ACLE) group stage fixture against Melbourne City on 21 October, where Emerson will take charge of the team for the first time.
Loss’s departure marks the end of a successful chapter defined by tactical maturity and competitive spirit, as Buriram look ahead to maintaining their momentum under new leadership.
