Miroslav Kuljanac, head coach of Kuala Lumpur City, expressed his satisfaction with his team’s performance following their 1-0 victory over Kaya FC in the ACC Shopee Cup 2024/25 Group Stage, Group B.
Although relieved to secure all three points, Kuljanac acknowledged that issues with the attacking setup prevented his team from scoring more goals.
He highlighted that KL City struggled with the final pass in their attacking play, making it difficult to capitalize on opportunities.
“We are facing a problem which is the team’s last pass. For the defensive side, we can improve it but in terms of attack it is quite difficult,” Kuljanac explained.
Despite the challenges, he was pleased with the team’s overall performance, noting that the first half was stronger than the second. Looking ahead, he mentioned that the team would reassess and plan further after some players return from national team duty.
KL City’s next match in the group stage will be against Borneo Samarinda on 26 September 2024, at KLFA Stadium, Cheras.
