Malaysia national team has unveiled the 26-player roster for the upcoming 2024 ASEAN Mitsubishi Electric Cup, scheduled from December 8, 2024, to January 5, 2025.
The Harimau Malaya squad boasts a balanced mix of youth and experience, with eight players aged 23 or below, resulting in an average squad age of 25.9 years.
This year’s competition presents a unique challenge as it falls outside the FIFA International Match Calendar, leaving clubs to balance league commitments while releasing players for national duty.
The squad includes 12 players from the November international matches against Laos and India, with standout young talents such as Haqimi Azim Rosli, Fergus Tierney, Najmudin Akmal, Daryl Sham George, and Muhammad Abu Khalil earning spots. New faces like Danial Amier Norhisham, Jimmy Raymond, and Harith Samsuri add depth and versatility to the team.
