Datuk Ong Kim Swee has officially parted ways with Indonesian club Persik Kediri, marking the end of his one-year stint in Indonesia Super League and opening the door to intense speculation about his next move.
The announcement came through Persik Kediri’s official platforms, confirming that the match against Semen Padang today was Kim Swee’s final game in charge of the Macan Putih.
“Persik Kediri officially parts ways with head coach Ong Kim Swee. This afternoon’s match is his final game leading the Macan Putih this season.
Thank you and success always on your next journey, Coach,” the club stated.
Prior to the official announcement, Kim Swee had already dropped a major hint through his Instagram Story, reflecting on his time in Indonesian football.
“One more match in Kediri tomorrow. One year in Indonesian football — many lessons. Some strong, some subtle.
For those who believed, thank you. For those who didn’t, you pushed me even harder,” he wrote.
His emotional message suggested that his departure had been decided ahead of today’s game, adding fuel to the already growing rumours about his next chapter.
With his exit now confirmed, the spotlight immediately turns to where the former Harimau Malaya and Sabah FC coach will head next.
This latest development will undoubtedly intensify speculation across Malaysia and the region, particularly given his strong reputation and recent achievements.
Just recently, Kim Swee publicly denied receiving an offer from East Coast side Terengganu FC, leaving fans and observers guessing which club will make the move to secure his services.
