Johor Darul Ta’Zim delivered a ruthless statement of dominance in the Liga Super Malaysia 2025/26, thrashing Kuala Lumpur City 7-0 at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, Iskandar Puteri.
The Southern Tigers were in full control from start to finish, showcasing attacking fluidity, depth, and clinical finishing against a KL City side that struggled to cope—especially after being reduced to 10 men early in the second half.
JDT’s attacking setup featured Ajdin Mujagic spearheading the frontline alongside Marcos Guilherme, while KL City relied on key names such as Safawi Rasid, Kpah Sherman, and Zhafri Yahya.
The breakthrough came as early as the 12th minute when Ager Aketxe curled a stunning free-kick past the KL City wall and into the net, igniting the home crowd. JDT doubled their advantage before halftime through Oscar Arribas, whose strike in the 34th minute left goalkeeper Quincy Kammeraad with no chance.
KL City’s hopes of a comeback were effectively extinguished in the 51st minute when defender Dmytro Lytvyn was shown a red card, leaving the visitors exposed against JDT’s relentless pressure.
Sensing blood, the hosts piled on the goals. Stuart Wilkin made it 3-0 in the 71st minute with a composed finish following a cross from Teto Martin.
The final 10 minutes turned into a goal fest, as Teto Martin, Mujagic, Eddy Israfilov, and Manuel Hidalgo all found the net to complete a resounding 7-0 victory.
