National men’s singles ace Lee Zii Jia is approaching the PRINCESS SIRIVANNAVARI Thailand Masters 2026 with a clear and realistic mindset, prioritising momentum and match sharpness as he continues his journey back to top form.
Speaking to SNE Sports ahead of the Super 300 tournament, the former All England champion admitted that his overall progress is moving in the right direction, even if it has yet to fully meet his own expectations.
“I think it’s progressing. It’s not as good as I expected, but it’s progressing,” said Zii Jia.
With the Thailand Masters likely marking his final appearance using protected ranking, the 25-year-old stressed that results are secondary to rediscovering his rhythm on court.
“I’ll just play and try my best to get my momentum on court,” he explained when asked about his target for the tournament.
Zii Jia is set to open his campaign against Julien Carraggi, and the world No. 2 in 2023 made it clear that, given his current situation, there is no room for underestimation.
“Definitely everyone will be a top opponent for me in my current situation. I’ll try my best in every session,” he said.
Looking beyond Bangkok, Zii Jia acknowledged that the road back up the world rankings will require patience, persistence and constant competition on the BWF World Tour.
“It’s about competing more in every tournament and trying to get back my momentum on court,” he added.
The shuttler also took a moment to address fans who continue to support him through this rebuilding phase, urging them to stay patient as he works towards full consistency.
“Please be patient. I will try my best to get back my momentum. I don’t know how long it will take, but I will try my best,” he said.
On a positive note, Zii Jia confirmed that his injury concerns are firmly behind him heading into the Thailand Masters.
“I’m recovering well. There are no injuries now,” he assured.
As he steps onto court in Bangkok, Zii Jia does so with fitness restored and expectations reset—focused on momentum over medals, and progress over pressure, as he steadily rebuilds towards elite World Tour contention.
