Kyrgyz Football Union(KFU) has appointed Maksim Lisitsyn, Russian head coach age 46, as the new head coach of Kyrgyz Republic national football team for the FIFA World Cup 2026 Asian Qualifiers Round 3 in September 2024.
Lisistyn will replaced Stefan Tarkovic, Slovak coach, after KFU decided to terminate cooperation with him in connection with the conclusion of his term, which contract of Tarkovic will ended in 30 June 2024.
Maxim Lisitsyn started his activity in Kyrgyzstan 4 years ago. In 2022, under his leadership, the U-20 youth team of the Kyrgyz Republic reached the finals of the Asian Cup. In addition, the Russian specialist led the Olympic U-23 team of the Kyrgyz Republic in the selection games of the Asian Championship.
Yesterday, on June 13, after the Executive Committee of the Kyrgyz Football Union approved Lisitsyn’s candidacy, the President of the Kyrgyz Football Federation, Kamchybek Tashiev, met with the team’s new head coach. He wished success to the team’s new coach and expressed confidence that our national team would achieve new goals under his leadership.
