Kim Pan-Gon, head coach of Malaysia national team, insisted that the list of players selected this time is based on ‘taste’ and the approach and planning applied against Kyrgyzstan and Chinese Taipei in the FIFA World Cup 2026 Asian Qualifiers round 2 later.
He said, each player was selected after considering various important aspects such as technical and tactical.
“We always choose the best players for each camp and I know there are different views on the selection we make.” Pan-Gon said.
“But we can only choose 23 players where two players for each position. We have a different approach and we demand something different in each position.”
“There are good players out there who are on the waiting list, but there is a chance for them to get on the list. We just chose these 23 players for tactical and technical reasons.”
“I believe according to our approach, planning and philosophy, I think we have selected the best players for the national squad,”
