Juan Torres Garrido, head coach of Malaysia U23 national team unveiled players ready to play in this tournament and have motivation to play against Uzbekistan U23 national team in the AFC U23 Asian Cup 2024 Group Stage, Group D first match tomorrow night.
Malaysia has qualified for this tournament as one of the four best runners-up in the qualifiers round in September 2023.
“We’re happy to be here, Looking forward to improving our past results – having in mind that first we have to represent our country proudly.” Juan said in pre-match press conference.
“Our preparations have been good despite the short period. We’re excited to face a team like Uzbekistan. The players want to play in this competition, and it’s motivating to have to go up against teams like Uzbekistan.”
“We know we are going up against one of the favourites who have a very good squad. We know we must be at our best level to be competitive against Uzbekistan.”
AFC U23 Asian Cup 2024, Group Stage Group D Matchday 1 between Uzbekistan vs Malaysia will be played on 17 April 2024 at 9.00 pm. (Malaysian time) at Khalifa International Stadium.
