Malaysia Women’s Double, TAN Pearly/THINAAH Muralitharan, fought Korea’s BAEK Ha Na/LEE Yu Lim today at the Japan Open 2022.
Malaysia’s duo won the first set initially. TAN appears to be injured when the Malaysia duo is leading in the second set.
However, in the third set, both TAN/THINAAH decided to continue despite TAN’s injury. When the match score reached 11-16, TAN seemed crippling out of the court. The official’s referee and a medic came and checked her condition. It wasn’t good. They both decided to retire from the game.
The game ended in 21-13, 19-21, and 11-16, where Korea’s BAEK/LEE advanced into Round 8 in the Japan Open 2022.
