Selangor FC, got a first trophy after 10 years Trophy drought, after beating PDRM FC scoring 4-0 in the MFL Challenge Cup 2024/25 Final 2nd leg, at MBPJ Stadium, Petaling Jaya.
The match started with Selangor on the front foot, and it took only four minutes for them to break the deadlock. Ali Olwan found the back of the net to give Selangor an early 1-0 lead.
Just six minutes later, Yohandry Orozco doubled the advantage, scoring his first goal of the match in the 10th minute to make it 2-0.
PDRM FC faced an uphill battle after being reduced to 10 men in the 21st minute. Eizrul Ashraf was shown a direct red card following a VAR review, further tilting the momentum in Selangor’s favor.
Taking full advantage of their numerical superiority, Selangor added a third goal in the 30th minute. Ronnie Fernandez rose above the defenders to head the ball into the net, making it 3-0.
Despite multiple chances, no additional goals were scored before halftime, and Selangor went into the break with a comfortable 3-0 lead.
Both teams made substitutions in the second half to adjust their tactics and provide rest to key players. PDRM tried to regain some control, but Selangor remained dominant.
In the 80th minute, Selangor struck again. A well-delivered cross from Mukhairi Ajmal found Yohandry Orozco, who finished from close range to make it 4-0, securing his brace.
With no further goals, the match ended 4-0 in favor of Selangor FC, sealing a comprehensive 7-0 aggregate victory over PDRM FC. This triumph marks a historic moment for the club as they finally lift a trophy after a decade-long wait.
