Sabah FC, a club from Malaysia, won 2 consecutive matches after winning PSM Makassar, a club from Indonesia, with a score of 5-0 in the AFC Cup 2023/24 Group Stage, Group H at Kapten I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Gianyar.
Sabah’s brilliant night began just six minutes into the match when national striker Darrel Lok headed in Saddil Ramdani’s ball.
Saddil’s cross once again paid off and this time it also ended with a header by Gabriel Peres to contribute to Sabah’s second goal in the 36th minute.
The Rhinos continued to strengthen their position after just a minute of the second half when Darren scored his third goal and second goal of the match.
Unfortunately for PSM Makassar when they were forced to act with 10 players following the goalkeeper, Reza Arya was given a red card in the 57th minute for bringing down Saddil.
This situation opened up an opportunity for Sabah to increase their net and their effort was successful in the 73rd minute after Stuart Wilkin’s free kick was hit by an opposing player before hitting the net.
Substitute Farhan Roslan then completed the victory in style for Datuk Ong Kim Swee’s squad when he easily rejected Cifu’s ball after injury.
Sabah, who beat Singapore’s representatives, Hougang United 3-1 in the first match, 21 September, leads Group H rivals with six points.
