Firdaus Mohamed, chairman competitions committee of Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has confirmed that the Malaysia national team will play 2 friendly matches on FIFA Day in March at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, Iskandar Puteri home of Johor Darul Ta’Zim.
In March, Bukit Jalil National Stadium, Kuala Lumpur will be closed to reinstall a new pitch after its flawed irrigation system often led to a waterlogged pitch after heavy rain.
Malaysia will play 2 friendly matches at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, Iskandar Puteri against Turkmenistan and another team (yet to be confirmed) in the FIFA Day window on March (20-28 March 2023)
In addition, Firdaus has revealed a plan to invite India national team and Palestine national team to participate Merdeka Cup 2023 in October. But now has not been confirmed yet.
