Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim (TMJ), owner of Johor Darul Ta’zim urged all parties to take steps to change their respective stadium fields to Zeon Zoysia grass.
TMJ said this through a post on his Instagram page when commenting on an offer from the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) to cover the cost of changing the grass.
“If you want to wait for the owner of the club, until when the cattle grass. You can spend tens of millions every year but you can’t make RM900K.” TMJ wrote on the comment.
“Recently I gave a suggestion to the club owner. I said that it is time to wait for the new stadium to be ready to change the current stadium field. At least when the new stadium is finished you have two quality pitches.”
“He replied that FAM had to help. Since when is the governing body responsible for our club’s infrastructure? But this is the result when there are owners and presidents who are not interested in football but use football for other agendas. Mindset,”

The comment of TMJ was also agreed by Hannah Yeoh, Minister of Youth and Sports who wants to see that all stadiums in Malaysia have a quality pitch.
“I have proposed a matching grant offer and offered to choose one football stadium that they want to upgrade the field with Zeon Zoysia grass.” she said.
“Upgrading the field is done by KBS by providing the cost of planting grass, but the maintenance of the field every month must be borne by the state government.”
“After everything is finished, the process of planting grass will be done and they have to take care of it as well.”
“Not all countries can afford and not all countries want this grass (Zeon Zoysia).”
Sultan Ibrahim Stadium is the only stadium that uses this type of grass in Malaysia so far with efforts to upgrade several stadiums being carried out.
