Terengganu FC continued their impressive form in the Liga Super after dismantling Melaka FC 4-0 in the Liga Super Malaysia 2025/26 at Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium, Gong Badak.
The Turtles, led by captain Shahrul Nizam and with Suhaimi Husin between the posts, came out with a clear attacking intent. Up front, Brazilian striker Careca spearheaded the charge, supported by Yann Mabella and Nurillo Tukhtasinov.
Melaka, on the other hand, named Firdaus Irman as their goalkeeper with veteran Nasir Basharudin leading the side.
The hosts broke the deadlock in the 27th minute through Yann Mabella, sending the home crowd into celebration. Six minutes later, Nurillo Tukhtasinov doubled the advantage with a composed finish to put Terengganu firmly in control.
Melaka’s evening worsened when Che Rashid was shown a straight red card for handling the ball inside the penalty area. Careca stepped up and confidently converted the spot-kick in the 46th minute.
Just before halftime, Mabella struck again with his second of the night, capping a dominant first half for Terengganu, who went into the break with a commanding 4-0 lead.
Despite their cushion, Terengganu continued to press in the second half, controlling possession and dictating the tempo. Melaka managed to hold firm and avoid further damage, but never posed a real threat to the Turtles’ defense.
The scoreboard remained unchanged as the final whistle confirmed a 4-0 triumph for the home side.
