Malaysian football has been shaken by allegations that a prominent Super League club in the Klang Valley allegedly forged documents to simplify its club licensing process, including an application for an Asian Football Confederation (AFC) license, according by Majoriti.com.my.
According to sources close to the matter, the club reportedly enlisted a former employee to handle the licensing documentation process. The alleged forgery has sparked outrage among the club’s supporters, many of whom have demanded transparency from the team’s management.
The issue was raised during a recent special meeting between the club owner and a supporters’ group. However, the response from the owner left fans frustrated, as he claimed to have no knowledge of the situation. This has led to serious concerns over the club’s transparency and governance.
In response to the allegations, Malaysian Football League (MFL) Acting Chief Executive Officer, Mohd Shazli Shaik Mohd, stated that the matter would be reviewed.
“I have to check again on that matter, I’m not sure about it. I will check again,” he said when approached during a Buka Puasa ceremony at Hotel One World, Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
If proven, document forgery in the club licensing process could result in severe penalties, including fines, points deductions, and potential bans. A recent case involving Kuala Lumpur (KL) City FC serves as a stark warning.
Last year, KL City, was found guilty of providing inaccurate declarations to the First Instance Body (FIB) when applying for a club license. As a result, the club was hit with six penalties.

The precedent set by KL City’s punishment raises concerns about the fate of the Klang Valley club now under scrutiny. Should the allegations be substantiated, similar or even harsher penalties could be imposed.
As investigations unfold, the club in question will face mounting pressure to provide clarity and ensure compliance with MFL and AFC regulations. With the Super League’s integrity at stake, Malaysian football authorities are expected to act decisively against any misconduct that threatens the credibility of the sport.
Supporters and football stakeholders will be watching closely as the controversy develops, awaiting a resolution that upholds fairness and transparency in club licensing.
