A spirited late resurgence from Sabah FC was not enough to deny Kelantan The Real Warriors (TRW) FC a thrilling 3-2 victory in the Liga Super Malaysia 2025/26 at Stadium Sultan Muhammad IV, Kota Bharu.
Kelantan TRW made a lightning start, opening the scoring as early as the sixth minute when Alexandre Yeoule reacted quickest to slot home a rebound after Sabah goalkeeper Damien Li failed to hold onto an initial effort inside the penalty area.
Sabah responded almost immediately. Just three minutes later, Darren Lok restored parity by calmly finishing a right-sided cross to make it 1-1, injecting fresh intensity into the contest.
The home side regained the lead in the 16th minute through Simen Lyngbø, who powered in a header amid a goalmouth scramble, before Asraf Aliffudin extended Kelantan’s advantage in the 23rd minute, showing composure to finish off a well-weighted long ball inside the box.
Trailing 3-1 at the break, Sabah FC emerged for the second half in their blue-and-white strip with renewed urgency, launching wave after wave of attacks in search of a way back into the game.
Their persistence finally paid off deep into stoppage time when import striker Ajdin Mujagic converted a 90+5 minute penalty, awarded after the ball struck a Kelantan defender’s hand. However, the late goal proved too little, too late as Kelantan TRW held firm to secure all three points.
