Kelantan FC has aanounced to withdraw the team from MBSB Bank Championship(Liga A1 Semi-Pro) in season 2024/25 after decided from team management.
Kelantan FC was just sanctioned and relegated to Liga A1 Semi-Pro after not approved club licensing due to financial problems from the First Instance Body Committee (FIB) of the Malaysian Football League(MFL).
Previously, Kelantan FC was rumoured not to join in the MBSB Bank Championship 2024/25 due to not registering the first 20 players before the deadline of AFL.
“First of all, Kelantan FC would like to thank the Amateur Football League (AFL) for agreeing and accepting the Kelantan FC team to play in the A1 Semi-Pro League under the MBSB Bank Championship Season 2024.” Kelantan FC said.
“However, after careful consideration, the team’s priority at the moment is to first resolve the team’s internal issues such as resolving the outstanding salary of the players from last season and resolving the FIFA cases to clear the good name of the Kelantan FC team.”
“We believe resolving the obligation of salary arrears is important before starting any new venture. Therefore, with a heavy heart but with a clear sense of responsibility, Kelantan FC has decided to withdraw from participating in the MBSB Bank Championship Season 2024/25”
“Kelantan FC sincerely apologize for any inconvenience or disappointment that may arise to the AFL and stakeholders. Kelantan FC would also like to take this opportunity to apologize to the supporters of the TRW Kelantan FC team for the team’s failure to perform well in the Super League Season 2023 and not participating in the League this new season.”
“The team’s responsibility and intention is to resolve this issue first immediately before Kelantan FC rejoins the football league in the future in better conditions.”
