Vietnam national team still performed well after beating Palestine national team with a score of 2-0 in the International Friendly ‘A’ Match at Thien Truong Stadium, Nam Dinh.
The pressure from the Palestinian team left Vietnam with only 2 clear opportunities in the first half of the first half, both of which came from pressing to regain the ball for a quick attack instead of deploying the ball at home.
In the 12th minute, Quang Hai cut off the Palestinian defender’s path to clear the ball, before slotting Tuan Hai through. The striker born in 1998 used a dribbling rhythm to eliminate the opponent, but he twisted his left foot and sent the ball wide of the post.
9 minutes later, Quang Hai crossed the ball dangerously, causing the opponent to fumble and head the ball at Hoang Duc’s feet. However, the midfielder wearing shirt number 14 kicked the ball and hit the opponent’s feet when space opened up.
Difficulties piled up for the Vietnamese team in the first half when two rookies, Trung Hieu and Viet Hung, had to leave the field due to injury. Trung Hieu tried to play after a strong tackle from his opponent, but could only try until the 12th minute before being taken for a medical examination. Viet Hung suffered head bleeding after a collision with midfielder Palestine, had to leave the field on a stretcher and was taken straight to the hospital.
Two consecutive injuries caused the Vietnamese team to lose their attacking moment in the first half. Playing a connecting and creative role, Quang Hai, Hung Dung and Tuan Anh played aggressively, with good one-touch coordination.
However, the Palestinian defence played fiercely and kept a good distance, causing many difficulties for the opponent’s offensive front.
Coach Troussier sent Cong Phuong onto the field at the beginning of the second half to increase creativity in the midfield. Hoang Duc was pulled back to the middle rock, while Cong Phuong emerged onto the rock parallel to Tuan Hai.
The difference appeared in the 62nd minute when Hoang Duc accurately poked Cong Phuong through the ball and beat the Palestinian goalkeeper with a gentle kick to open the score.
With passes across the line, the Vietnamese team created another opportunity 4 minutes later, but this time Tuan Hai could not beat the Palestinian goalkeeper with an underpowered shot.
Mr. Troussier’s adjustments to his playing style helped the Vietnamese team play smoothly and have more lethal passes in the second half.
When the Palestinian team had to push their squad higher to find an equalizer, the Vietnamese team had very quick transitions from defense to attack.
In the 72nd minute, Tien Anh poked Van Toan through the slot. The striker wearing shirt number 9 dribbled the ball across the penalty area and then passed it across for Tan Tai to finish, but the shot went over the crossbar.
In the match’s final minutes, the Vietnamese team continued to shake the opponent’s net. In the 77th minute, Tan Tai passed across the line just in range for Van Toan to run up. Number 9 of the Vietnamese team accelerated to defeat the Palestinian defender and then passed the ball across to Tuan Hai to double the gap. This was also the last goal of the match.
Defeating Palestine with a score of 2-0, the Vietnamese team extended their winning streak 3 matches.
