Club Valencia, club from Maldives withdrawal team from participating in the AFC Cup 2022 due several players infected COVID-19 until there are not enough players left in the competition.
Therefore, in accordance with the AFC Cup 2022 Competition Regulations, the Preliminary Stage Round 2 (South) between Abahani Limited Dhaka from Bangladesh, againist Club Valencia which was scheduled to take place on 12 April 2022, has been cancelled.
Consequently, Abahani Limited Dhaka have advanced into the AFC Cup 2022 Playoff Stage (South zone) and will face the winners of the match between ATK Mohun Bagan, club from India and Blue Star SC, club Sri Lanka on 19 April 2022, for the final place in Group D.
The AFC Cup 2022 Group D, which comprises Gokulam Kerala (India), Bashundhara Kings(Bangladesh) and Maziya Sports and Recreation(Maldives) is scheduled to take place in Kolkata, India, from 18-24 May 2022.
