Alif S. Dechaphan, a 20-year-old energetic fighter of Thai-Malaysian descent, will face Thongpoon PK. Saenchai, a 26-year-old Thai fighter, under Muay Thai rules in the Strawweight category (115-125 lbs.) at ONE Fight Night 24 on Saturday, August 3.
Alif, from Sor. Dechaphan’s camp has been competing in the ONE Lumpini show since 2023. He has an impressive record, winning 4 consecutive fights, with 3 victories before the final round, earning him a ONE-athlete contract worth $100,000.
However, in 2024, Alif is still searching for his first victory. He lost his debut kickboxing match on points to Zhang Beimian at ONE Lumpini 58 on April 5, and most recently, he lost on non-unanimous points to Ellis Barbosa at ONE Fight Night 23 on July 5.
Thongpoon, a fierce fighter from the PK Saenchai camp, also began competing in ONE Lumpini in 2023. He boasts a record of 3 consecutive wins, finishing 2 of those fights before the final round, which earned him a ONE-athlete contract worth $100,000.
Since then, he has fought 3 times in the ONE Fight Night ring, with a record of 1 win, 1 loss, and 1 no decision. His most recent fight was a point loss to Moroccan fighter Zakaria El Jamari at ONE Fight Night 22 on May 4. Thongpoon is eager to bounce back and has accepted the challenge from the younger fighter, Alif, who previously expressed a desire to test his skills against him.
This upcoming fight is highly anticipated as both fighters are coming off losses in their last bouts in the ONE Fight Night arena and are determined to prove themselves on the world stage as ONE athletes.
ONE Fight Night 24 will commence on Saturday, August 3, with the first match starting at 8:00 a.m. (Malaysian time).
