Malaysian rising star Hakim Danish delivered another impressive performance in the Moto3 World Championship, climbing to seventh place after post-race penalties were applied in the Moto3 Round 10 – Tissot Grand Prix of the Netherlands 2026 at the iconic TT Circuit Assen.
Representing AEONCredit – MT Helmets – MSi, the Malaysian youngster crossed the finish line in 10th after an aggressive and determined ride from 16th on the grid. However, revised official results promoted Hakim three positions to P7, earning valuable championship points and reinforcing his position among the leading riders in the 2026 Moto3 campaign.
Starting from 16th on the grid following Saturday’s Q2 qualifying session, Hakim wasted no time making progress once the lights went out.
The Malaysian produced a superb opening lap, overtaking multiple rivals to break into the top 10 before continuing his charge into the top five. Displaying excellent race pace and confidence around the challenging Assen circuit, Hakim steadily closed the gap to the race leaders.
By Lap 10, he had remarkably climbed into second place, putting himself firmly in contention for what could have been a maiden Moto3 podium while beginning the pursuit of race leader Maximo Quiles.
As the closing stages unfolded, Hakim found it increasingly difficult to maintain the pace at the front. Over the next three laps, several rivals managed to overtake him as tyre wear and the intense slipstream battles reshuffled the leading group.
Despite fighting hard to regain a podium position, the Malaysian eventually crossed the finish line in 10th, just 4.475 seconds behind the race winner.
The final classification, however, told a different story. Post-race penalties handed to Rico Salmela (+6 seconds), Joel Kelso (+3 seconds) and Adrian Fernandez (+3 seconds) elevated Hakim to an official P7 finish, adding two extra championship points to his tally.
The revised result sees Hakim leave the Dutch Grand Prix with nine championship points, increasing his season total to 82 points after 10 rounds, and rising to sixth in the 2026 Moto3 World Championship standings, highlighting another step forward in what has become a breakthrough campaign for the talented youngster.
Having shown the pace to challenge the race leaders from deep on the grid, Hakim once again demonstrated his growing maturity and racecraft against the world’s best Moto3 riders.
Hakim Danish’s remarkable recovery from 16th on the grid and his eventual promotion to seventh underlined the Malaysian’s continued rise as one of Moto3’s brightest young talents heading into the second half of the 2026 season.
At the front, Spanish sensation Maximo Quiles (CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team) produced a composed and clinical performance to claim victory at Assen with a winning time of 33:51.801.
