Raúl Fernández produced one of the finest performances of his MotoGP career to claim a sensational victory in Saturday’s Tissot Sprint at the Dutch Grand Prix, leading home teammate Ai Ogura in a landmark 1-2 finish for SuperFile Trackhouse MotoGP Team at the iconic TT Circuit Assen.
Launching from fourth on the grid, Fernández delivered a masterclass in aggressive yet calculated racecraft to deny his charging teammate, while Fabio Di Giannantonio completed the podium after an intense battle among the championship contenders.
The Sprint began with Ogura grabbing the holeshot from second on the grid, only for polesitter Jorge Martín to immediately reclaim the lead.
Fernández wasted little time joining the fight. Running third early on, the Spaniard overtook Ogura on Lap 2 before launching a decisive move on Martín one lap later. As the leading quartet stormed onto the main straight, the battle erupted into a thrilling four-way contest featuring Fernández, Martín, Di Giannantonio and Ogura.
The race took another dramatic turn when Di Giannantonio overtook Martín for second before Ogura followed him through.
Although the Italian briefly held the runner-up spot, Ogura steadily closed the gap and executed a textbook pass at the final chicane with five laps remaining, setting up a fascinating all-Trackhouse duel for victory.
Despite relentless pressure from the Japanese rookie, Fernández managed the closing stages perfectly, maintaining just enough of an advantage to cross the finish line first and secure a memorable Sprint triumph.
The result marked a historic afternoon for Trackhouse MotoGP, celebrating its first-ever 1-2 finish in the premier class.
While the Trackhouse duo battled for victory, Di Giannantonio successfully held off championship leader Marco Bezzecchi to secure third place.
Bezzecchi mounted a late charge but ultimately had to settle for fourth after narrowly missing out on the podium.
Behind them, Martín survived an intense final-lap attack from Francesco Bagnaia, edging his fellow title contender by just 0.061 seconds to claim fifth.
Six-time Dutch GP winner Marc Márquez finished seventh after a difficult Sprint, while Enea Bastianini claimed eighth.
One of the standout recovery rides came from Pedro Acosta, who bounced back from dropping to 15th after an early mistake to finish ninth and collect the final championship point.
