The 2026 MotoGP Jerez Test 2026 delivered an intense glimpse into the evolving competitive order, with Ai Ogura emerging as the fastest rider in Combined Practice Session 2.
Riding for Trackhouse MotoGP Team, Ogura clocked a blistering 1:35.944 to top the timesheets, edging teammate Raul Fernandez by a razor-thin margin of just 0.005 seconds in a strong 1-2 showing for Aprilia machinery.
Behind the leading duo, Marco Bezzecchi secured third place for Aprilia Racing, reinforcing the manufacturer’s growing momentum. The Italian posted a 1:36.272, putting three Aprilia bikes inside the top three—an early statement of intent for the 2026 season.
However, the spotlight quickly turned to the ever-competitive Marc Marquez, who slotted into fourth for Ducati Lenovo Team. Just 0.333 seconds off the pace, Marquez remains firmly in contention as Ducati continues to fine-tune its package.
Rising star Pedro Acosta continued to impress for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing, finishing fifth and showing consistent pace across both sessions.
Meanwhile, Alex Marquez delivered a solid sixth-place result for Gresini Ducati, underlining the depth of Ducati’s grid presence.
Further down the order, Fabio Quartararo placed seventh as Yamaha continues its push to close the performance gap. Teammate challenges remain evident, with both factory and satellite riders still chasing crucial tenths.
For Honda, Johann Zarco led their charge in ninth, while Luca Marini and Joan Mir hovered mid-pack, signaling ongoing development work within the Japanese camp.
Notably, reigning contenders Francesco Bagnaia and Jorge Martin ended the session in 10th and 11th respectively. While not headline-grabbing, both riders remain within striking distance as teams experiment with setups rather than outright pace.
