In an official statement was issued by JDT Chief Executive Officer Luis Garcia, the Malaysian champions confirmed their commitment to backing Joao Figueiredo, Hector Hevel, and Jon Irazabal, who are among the players affected by the recent ruling involving eligibility to represent the Malaysia national football team.
JDT emphasized that despite the challenges faced by the players, the club will continue to provide full support in line with the values instilled by their owner, Tunku Ismail Idris, the Regent of Johor.

According to JDT, the situation may be difficult for the players involved, but the club remains committed to standing beside them during this period.
While the suspension prevents the trio from representing Malaysia internationally, the ruling by the Court of Arbitration for Sport allows them to remain active at club level in permitted activities.
As such, Figueiredo, Hevel, and Irazabal will continue training with the JDT first team and remain involved in team-related activities as allowed under the regulations.
The strong stance reflects JDT’s philosophy of loyalty and solidarity within the squad, ensuring that affected players continue to receive the club’s backing while serving their suspension.
