PJ City, take first 3 points of the season after win Melaka United with a score 1-0 in the Liga Super Malaysia 2022 at Stadium MBPJ, Petaling Jaya.
Despite being the only team that uses 100 percent local energy, PJ City turned out to be a better team than Melaka United, which was reinforced by last season’s top scorer in the league, Ifedayo Olusegun.
Placed as the target player, Ifedayo was instead deadlocked to beat the goalkeeper, Kalamullah Al-Hafiz, where his header in the 29th minute just passed the crossbar.
Goal chances for PJ City increased in the 40th minute before the break, when Mahali Jasuli’s effort, which received a Kumaahran cross, soared.
In the 43rd minute, Kumaahran then teamed up with Darren Lok to plan a quick counter-attack for PJ City before finishing it off with a glorious semi-volley that beat Norazlan Razali.
PJ City remained the more dominant team in the second half, where no dangerous threats were made by Melaka United to chase the equalizer.
