Saitama, Japan – In a spectacular display of striking mastery, Japanese kickboxing sensation Masaaki Noiri shocked the world by defeating Tawanchai PK Saenchai to claim the Interim ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Championship at ONE 172 in front of his home crowd.
Facing the reigning ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Champion, Noiri, a two-division K-1 champion, showcased his elite skills and relentless aggression throughout the fight. He continuously pressured Tawanchai, landing powerful kicks and punches that visibly troubled the Thai superstar.
The high-intensity bout reached its climax in the third round, with one minute and 20 seconds left on the clock. Noiri unleashed a devastating barrage of punches, targeting Tawanchai’s face with pinpoint accuracy.
As the Thai champion struggled to defend himself, Noiri delivered a thunderous left hook, sending Tawanchai staggering. The referee quickly intervened, declaring Noiri the winner after deeming Tawanchai unable to continue.
With this victory, Noiri cements his status as one of the most dangerous strikers in the world, adding the Interim ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Title to his already illustrious career. His win also sets up a potential unification bout against reigning champion Chingiz Allazov, making him a force to be reckoned with in the division.
For Tawanchai, this defeat halts his momentum in kickboxing, but the Thai superstar still holds his Muay Thai world title, ensuring his legacy remains intact.
