Malaysia’s sprint sensation, Muhammad Azeem Fahmi, narrowly missed out on a podium finish in the men’s 100m final at the 2025 World University Games (WUG) in Rhine-Ruhr, finishing fourth overall with a time of 10.35 seconds.
Astro Arena reporter Fariha Razak, who is on the ground in Rhine-Ruhr, shared the close result:
“So close!!! Azeem Fahmi finished fourth in the men’s 100m final with a time of 10.35s — just shy of the podium.”
Azeem earned his spot in the final after placing third in the third semifinal with a time of 10.43 seconds, displaying solid form throughout the rounds.
