Thailand’s top shuttler, Pornpawee Chochuwong, showcased incredible resilience and determination to secure the women’s singles crown at the Princess Sirivannavari Thailand Masters 2025.
The number one seed defeated Indonesia’s rising star Koman Dewi in a thrilling three-game battle, winning 18-21, 21-16, 21-13.
The match began with Dewi taking control, using powerful smashes and quick net plays to capture the first game 21-18. Chochuwong, however, remained composed despite trailing, relying on her tactical precision and court coverage to bounce back in the second game.
With momentum shifting in her favor, the Thai shuttler dominated the deciding game, outmaneuvering Dewi with smart shot placements and relentless defense to seal a 2-1 victory.
This victory marks Chochuwong’s first title of the year after narrowly missing out at the India Open in January. Alongside the championship trophy, she claimed prize money of USD 18,000, solidifying her status as one of the top players in women’s badminton.
