The Laos Football Federation has officially announced its final 26-man squad for the ASEAN Hyundai Cup 2026, with Serbian head coach Vladica Grujić naming a blend of experienced internationals and promising young talent ahead of Southeast Asia’s biggest football tournament.
The 2026 edition marks the 30th anniversary of the ASEAN Championship and will run from 24 July to 26 August, featuring 10 national teams divided into two groups. It is also the first tournament to be held under the Hyundai title sponsorship after the Korean automotive giant signed a long-term partnership with the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) in 2025.
Laos have been drawn into a challenging Group B alongside Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Myanmar, with only the top two teams progressing to the semi-finals.
Head coach Grujić has retained the core of his national team while rewarding several standout performers from both the Lao Premier League and overseas clubs, hoping to build a competitive squad capable of challenging some of the region’s strongest sides.

One of the biggest boosts for Laos is the inclusion of overseas-based midfielder Damot Thongkhamsavath, who plays in Vietnam’s V.League 1 with Thanh Hóa FC, while Khonsavanh Kaewnouchan arrives from Rome City Institute in Italy and Payak Siphanom continues to gain valuable experience in Thailand’s League 2 with Chainat FC.
Their international exposure is expected to strengthen a squad looking to compete against higher-ranked regional rivals.
Laos will open their campaign at home against regional powerhouse Thailand before facing three crucial fixtures against fellow Group B contenders.
