Malaysia’s promising mixed doubles pair, Hoo Pang Ron-Cheng Su Yin, continued their stellar run at the LI-NING China Masters 2024, cruising into the semi-finals with a commanding victory.
Competing at the Shenzhen Gymnasium, the world No. 23 duo dispatched Taiwan’s Chen Cheng Kuan-Hsu Yin Hui in straight sets, winning 21-10, 21-16 in just 31 minutes. Their performance showcased sharp attacking play and solid court coverage, affirming their growing confidence and form.
In the semi-finals, Pang Ron and Su Yin will face a tougher challenge against Hong Kong’s Tang Chun Man-Tse Ying Suet, the tournament’s No. 3 seeds. Tang-Tse advanced to the last four after defeating Indonesia’s No. 6 pair, Dejan Ferdinansyah-Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja, with a convincing 21-13, 21-17 victory.
Hoo Pang Ron and Cheng Su Yin have been on an impressive run at the China Masters, delivering significant wins, including their upset over world No. 3 Jiang Zhenbang-Wei Yaxin in the earlier rounds. Their consistent performances suggest they are ready to challenge the higher-ranked Hong Kong pair for a spot in the final.
