Bojan Hodak, Croatian head coach has resigned from the head coach of Kuala Lumpur City after staying 2 years in the position, due to having received an offer from a foreign club.
“It’s difficult to find words that can best describe what you have done for us. You took us when we had nothing, then made us into something.” KL City said in official Facebook page
“You brought back the fond memories of the glory days in red & white and you regained the trust and the believe of the fans.”
“You brought back respect to this club and you set us on the path where expectations are once again a barometer for this organization.”
“Many things you changed for the better, for the good, most notably the mentality, the attitude, the culture. The unity we had, never once cracked under pressure despite whatever the obstacles and challenges.”
“We just kept punching above our weight, 3 finals (some say 4) in 3 consecutive years by no means is a small feat for any team, but your tactical nous and sprit rubbed of each and every one of us. You pushed us beyond our limits, for the best of ourselves…”
“In the storybook of the City Boys, you will be forever in time, standing as tall as the coaching greats of yesteryears, the late Josef Venglos and the late Chow Kwai Lam.”
“We thank you from the bottom of our hearts and we wish you all the best in your next chapter.”
“There’s only one BOJAN and you will always be in our hearts YOU PURE CITY SOUL.”
“Maybe we’ll meet again, somewhere again…”
Bojan is one of the most outstanding coaches in Malaysia when he successfully led Kuala Lumpur City to be the champions of Piala Malaysia 2021, finalist in AFC Cup 2022, and most recently the finalist of Piala FA Malaysia 2023 after losing 0-2 to Johor Darul Ta’Zim last Saturday.
However, Nenad Bacina, assistant coach of KL City who is also from Croatia, replaced his place to face the rest of the Liga Super Malaysia 2023.
Latest, Bojan Hodak has opened to be the new head coach of Persib Bandung, a club in Liga 1 Indonesia replaced Luis Milla, the Spanish head coach.
