Malaysian sprint sensation Azeem Fahmi continues to make waves in American collegiate athletics after playing a pivotal role in Auburn University’s stunning victory in the 4×100 meters relay at the NCAA Championships.
The formidable Auburn quartet—Azeem Fahmi, Kayinsola Ajayi, Dario Matau, and Makanakaishe Charamba—delivered an electrifying performance to claim the U.S. national collegiate title, clocking an impressive 38.33 seconds.
Their victory saw them edge out powerhouse University of Southern California (USC), who finished second in 38.46 seconds, while Louisiana State University (LSU) completed the podium in third place with 38.56 seconds.
This marks Auburn’s second NCAA 4×100m relay title, with Azeem having also contributed to their triumph in 2024, further cementing his status as a crucial member of the team’s sprint dynasty.
Azeem, 20, hailing from Perak, Malaysia, has been consistently raising eyebrows in the U.S. track and field scene. He previously drew national and international attention after clocking a blistering 10.09 seconds in the 100m final at the Appalachian State University Track Championships in Boone, North Carolina last May.
However, the time was later adjusted to 10.12 seconds due to wind assistance exceeding the legal limit.
