AragonGP: Marc Marquez Triumphs ‘King of Aragon’

Marc Marquez produced another statement performance at MotorLand Aragon, claiming his third Tissot Sprint victory at the circuit and delivering another major twist in the 2026 MotoGP World Championship battle in the Michelin Grand Prix of Aragon 2026 at MotorLand Aragon, Alcañiz.

The Ducati Lenovo Team star beat his brother Alex Marquez into second, while polesitter Marco Bezzecchi completed the podium for Aprilia Racing after losing the lead at the opening corner.

The result also reshaped the championship picture, with Bezzecchi now holding a 29-point advantage over Aprilia teammate Jorge Martin at the top of the standings.

Bezzecchi made an excellent launch from pole and appeared ready to control the opening lap.

But Marc Marquez immediately attacked. The Ducati rider launched his move under braking into Turn 1, diving up the inside to take the lead.

Alex Marquez then went around the outside to move into second, leaving the two brothers chasing Bezzecchi at the front.

Jorge Martin, Raul Fernandez and Pedro Acosta exchanged positions during the opening laps.

Acosta initially emerged on top and opened a gap, forcing Martin to fight his way back towards the KTM.

The Aprilia rider responded impressively and by Lap 3 had retaken fourth place.

Bezzecchi remained approximately half a second behind his fellow Spaniard, but neither Alex nor Bezzecchi could find the opportunity needed to attack.

The Aprilia rider had secured pole and was desperate to convert it into a Sprint victory.

Martin suffered a moment at the final corner on Lap 5, allowing Acosta to move back ahead.

Acosta then began closing the gap to Bezzecchi during the final laps.

The KTM rider appeared increasingly dangerous as he hunted his first Sprint podium opportunity, while Martin was left fighting to maintain fifth.

Behind them, a separate battle was developing for sixth. Diogo Moreira, Fermín Aldeguer and Raul Fernandez converged during the closing stages, creating another intense multi-rider fight.

Despite the pressure behind him, Marc Marquez remained completely composed.

After 11 laps, the Ducati rider crossed the finish line to claim another Tissot Sprint victory at Aragón.

It was his third Sprint win at the venue, further strengthening an already extraordinary record at MotorLand.

Alex Marquez finished second, less than a second behind his brother.

Bezzecchi narrowly held third, surviving a late attack from Acosta to complete the podium.
