Marc Marquez’s triumphant return to the top of the MotoGP podium marked an incredible comeback story at the Gran Premio GoPro de Aragón or ‘AragonGP’.
After 1,043 days, numerous surgeries, and a change of team to Gresini Racing, the #93 rider dominated the race, starting with a strong Tissot Sprint win and carrying that momentum through to Sunday. Marquez shot off the line, took the holeshot, and never looked back, ultimately extending his lead to over five seconds and securing his first victory since 2021.
Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing) finished second, further bolstering his lead in the World Championship standings, while Pedro Acosta (Red Bull GASGAS Tech3) took third, marking his return to the podium for the first time since April. The race saw plenty of drama, particularly when Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) collided with Alex Marquez (Gresini Racing MotoGP™), forcing both riders out of podium contention. Despite the clash, the FIM MotoGP™ Stewards deemed it a racing incident with no further action taken.
Behind the leading trio, Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) finished in a strong fourth position, while Enea Bastianini (Ducati Lenovo Team) fought his way up to fifth after a challenging qualifying session. Franco Morbidelli (Prima Pramac Racing) secured sixth, with Fabio Di Giannantonio (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team) and Marco Bezzecchi completing the top eight after post-race penalties were issued for tyre pressure infractions.
