Johor Darul Ta’zim, have officially unveiled their latest signing, Anselmo Moraes, further strengthening their squad ahead of a crucial phase in the season.
The announcement was made through a video post on the Johor Southern Tigers’ official social media, featuring Anselmo at the iconic Sultan Ibrahim Stadium.
“New player, welcome Anselmo Moraes,” JDT stated in their official announcement.
Anselmo, a seasoned 35-year-old central defender, joins the Malaysian powerhouse after leaving Al-Wehda of Saudi Arabia in July 2024. Throughout his illustrious career, he has represented several top-tier clubs, including Genoa, Palermo, Al-Nassr, and Internacional in Brazil.
His arrival adds further depth to an already formidable JDT squad, particularly in defense, where he will line up alongside three newly recruited Spanish stars—Álvaro González, Roque Mesa, and Jonathan Viera.
JDT manager Héctor Bidoglio is counting on Anselmo’s experience and leadership as the club gears up for a high-stakes AFC Champions League Elite (ACLE) showdown against Pohang Steelers this Tuesday.
