Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has officially announced that the Harimau Malaya will host two prestigious international friendlies during the upcoming September 2025 FIFA window, reinforcing Malaysia’s commitment to quality competition and fan engagement.
Malaysia will face off against regional rivals Singapore on September 4, followed by a clash against FIFA top-100 ranked Palestine on September 8. Both matches are scheduled to take place in Kuala Lumpur, giving local supporters a chance to rally behind the national team in two compelling home encounters.
“We’re excited to have secured two high-calibre fixtures for Harimau Malaya,” said Rob Friend, CEO of the Malaysian national team. “These matches represent more than just preparation—they’re a chance to test ourselves against a mix of familiar and challenging opponents. Singapore will bring the intensity of a regional rivalry, while Palestine poses a different tactical test and international pedigree. Both matches are integral to our long-term vision for the national team.”
Commenting on Malaysia’s recent withdrawal from the CAFA Nations Cup, Friend explained:
“Stepping away from the CAFA Nations Cup was a calculated and strategic decision. However, we ensured open communication with CAFA and supported the search for a suitable replacement. Maintaining professionalism and integrity in our global football relationships remains a top priority.”
