Malaysia’s men’s doubles pair, Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik, ended as runner-up after defeating Indonesian pairFajar ALFIAN-Muhammad Rian ARDIANTO in the YONEX All England Open Badminton Championships 2024 at Utilita Arena, Birmingham.
Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik lost to the defending champions from Indonesia in straight sets, scoring 16-21, 16-21 in 44 minutes.
Following this defeat, Aaron-Wooi Yik repeated their achievement in the 2019 edition when they also won the runner-up title after bowing to the experienced Indonesian team, Mohamad Ahsan-Hendra Setiawan in the final stage.
The decision also saw Malaysia’s 17-year drought to win the men’s team event across England continue with the last time Koo Kiean Keat-Tan Boon Heong won in the 2007 edition.
