Indonesia U23 national team made a history reached to quarter-final for the first time after beating Jordan U23 national team scoring 4-1 in the AFC U23 Asian Cup 2024 Group Stage, Group A at Abdullah Bin Khalifa Stadium.
Indonesia received a penalty kick in the 23rd minute after Amer Jamous fouled Rafael Struick in the penalty box. Marselino Ferdinand, who stepped forward as executioner, could execute it well. His shot outwitted the Jordan goalkeeper, Ahmad Al Juaidi.
In the 33rd minute, Indonesia U23 National Team almost doubled their lead. However, Witan Sulaeman’s free shot still narrowly bounced over the Jordan crossbar.
It’s just a matter of time before Witan Sulaeman gets his name on the scoreboard found the back of the Jordan U-23 goal in the 40th minute.
Indonesia ended Group A with six points from two matches resulting from two wins over Australia and Jordan and losing to the Qatar.
Starting from Rizky Ridho’s sweet pass, Witan Sulaeman fired a curved kick to the left of the opponent’s goal which Ahmad Al Juaidi could not block.
This two-goal lead made Indonesia one step closer to advancing to the quarter-final of the AFC U23 Asian Cup, which will accompany Qatar, which is certain to qualify.
In the quarter-final of the AFC U23 Asian Cup, Indonesian U23 National Team will challenge the first position in Group B, which is temporarily held by Korea Republic U23 national team.
