PDRM FC shocked fans after decided rest Azzmi Aziz, head coach with effect from Monday. despite the team having a good performance and staying at 8th rank in the Liga Super Malaysia 2023.
However, There was no official announcement, no reason given other than it was allegedly part of a restructuring process for the team.
It is understood, Azzmi, is no longer in charge of team training with his duties being taken over by assistant head coach, Eddy Gapil. and the team’s training on Monday evening, however, did not continue as soon as Azzmi informed the team of the PDRM FC management’s decision to rest him immediately.
Azzmi, who was appointed last January, gained more respect after the success of PDRM FC under his guidance with two surprising victories 1-0 over Selangor FC on June 3 and Sabah FC on June 8 respectively.
Azzmi is the fifth coach of Liga Super Malaysia 2023 to be sidelined this season after Tomas Trucha (Kelantan United), Chong Yee Fatt (Penang FC), Choi Moon-sik (Kelantan FC), and Datuk Lim Teong Kim (Perak FC). Frank Bernhardt is also reported to be waiting for a similar action by Kelantan FC.
