Football Association of Singapore (FAS) has officially unveiled the final 23-man squad of Singapore U23 National Team set to carry the nation’s hopes at the Thailand SEA Games 2025, scheduled from 3–18 December 2025.
Originally placed in Group C, Singapore’s men’s U22 team will now contest Group A, a three-team group featuring hosts Thailand and Timor-Leste, after Cambodia withdrew from the competition. All matches will take place in Bangkok, setting the stage for a compact but high-stakes group campaign.
Head Coach Firdaus Kassim expressed confidence in his youthful side after a 9-day high-intensity camp in Dubai (11–19 Nov), where Singapore faced the U22 teams of the UAE and Iraq.
“Preparation matches are about performance, improvement and growth.
If we get these things right, we’ll be moving in the direction we want.”
Firdaus praised several younger players for stepping up in training and match situations, noting that accelerated development will be crucial for Singapore’s long-term ambitions.
Team captain Amir Syafiz believes the Dubai camp strengthened the squad’s mentality and unity.
“We’ve been pushing each other every day.
Our goal is simple — represent Singapore with pride and commitment.”

Singapore will open against Timor-Leste on 6 December at Rajamangala Stadium, before facing Thailand five days later. Only the three group winners and the best second-placed team will progress to the semi-finals.
The 2025 squad is among the youngest in recent SEA Games history:
- 12 players will still be eligible for the 2027 Games.
- Five players born in 2008 could even feature again in 2029 — when Singapore hosts the event.
- Several players already carry senior international experience, including standout youngster Amir Syafiz, who earned two caps during the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers.
Others like Fairuz Fazli, Jonan Tan, Ong Yu En, and Raoul Suhaimi were also involved in senior call-ups across 2024–2025, gaining crucial exposure at the highest level.
In the Singapore Premier League (SPL), Raoul and Aqil Yazid have played every available minute for Young Lions this season, while Ong Yu En and Fairuz average over 70 minutes per match — evidence that this squad isn’t just young, but battle-tested.
Another rising star to watch is 17-year-old Nathan Mao, who logged 321 SPL minutes and is widely regarded as one of the brightest midfield talents of his generation.
