Myanmar Football Federation (MFF) has announced the immediate postponement of all scheduled football matches and related activities following a powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake that struck Upper Myanmar on March 28, 2025.
In an official statement, the MFF expressed deep condolences to those affected by the disaster and emphasized the need to prioritize the safety and well-being of players, officials, and fans across the country. The federation confirmed that all football events, including domestic men’s and women’s league matches, Futsal League fixtures, youth competitions, Summer Football Courses, and other related football activities, will be rescheduled until further notice.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with all those impacted by this natural disaster. Given the current situation, we must take necessary precautions to ensure the safety of everyone involved in football,” the statement read.
The MFF assured the public that updates on new schedules and adjustments to upcoming events will be provided as soon as possible. The federation also urged the football community and the public to remain vigilant and take all necessary safety measures in the aftermath of the disaster.
Additionally, the MFF extended gratitude to emergency responders, humanitarian organizations, and volunteers working tirelessly to provide aid and relief to the affected regions. “We stand in solidarity with all communities affected by this tragedy and will do whatever we can to support recovery efforts,” the statement concluded.
