Kuching City keep 1 point in their home after tied Perak FC scoring 1-1 in the Liga Super Malaysia 2024/25 at Stadium Negeri, Kuching.
The visitors made an immediate impact, breaking the deadlock in just the 14th minute. Firdaus Saiyadi capitalized on a defensive lapse and calmly slotted the ball past the Kuching City goalkeeper, giving Perak FC an early 1-0 lead.
Despite falling behind, Kuching City struggled to find their rhythm in the first half, with Perak maintaining a compact defensive line to maintain their advantage.
The second half saw a determined Kuching City FC pushing hard for an equalizer. Yuki Tanigawa came agonizingly close in the 54th minute with a powerful header, only to see it ricochet off the post.
Their relentless efforts finally bore fruit in the 71st minute when Muhammad Ramadhan Saifullah Usman rose above Perak’s defense to head the ball past goalkeeper Haziq Nadzli, leveling the score at 1-1.
Both teams had chances to seal the win, but the scoreline remained unchanged as the referee blew the final whistle.
The draw keeps Perak FC in fifth place on the Liga Super table with 23 points, while Kuching City FC trails closely behind in sixth with 22 points.
Kuching City will next face Penang FC at Bandaraya Stadium, while Perak FC braces for a challenging fixture against defending champions Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium.
