Four fingers have already been raised in celebration of four consecutive victories. Now, Hoo Pang Ron-Lai Pei Jing are dreaming of the ultimate fifth finger — a symbol of their biggest achievement yet — when the Malaysian professional mixed doubles pair step onto court for the China Masters 2026 final tomorrow.
The Malaysian duo stormed into the final with another commanding performance at the Shenzhen Arena, defeating home favourites Zhu Yi Jun-Li Qian 21-12, 21-10 in the semi-finals to secure their fourth straight victory of the tournament.
The victory also confirmed Pei Jing’s first-ever World Tour final alongside Pang Ron, marking a major milestone in their partnership.
Pang Ron, meanwhile, is no stranger to the China Masters final, having previously reached the title decider in 2024 with Cheng Su Yin.
This time, however, the 2026 final carries a completely different significance.
The Malaysian pair will have the opportunity to claim their first World Tour title together, just months after beginning their partnership.
Standing in their way in tomorrow’s final are the world No. 1 Chinese pair Feng Yan Zhe-Huang Dong Ping, who just won the Malaysian couple pair, Goh Soon Huat/Lai Shevon Jemie, setting up a major test for the Malaysians.
Feng-Huang will enter the final as the world’s top-ranked mixed doubles combination and will enjoy strong home support, but Pang Ron-Pei Jing have already demonstrated throughout this tournament that they are capable of handling pressure on the biggest stage.
