Selangor FC continued their perfect start to the 2026/27 Unifi Liga Super Malaysia 2026/27 season after producing a commanding 3-0 victory over Terengganu FC at Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium, Gong Badak.
The Red Giants controlled large portions of the contest before exploding into life after half-time, with Kay Tejan and Chrigor Moraes finding the net to secure another three points for head coach Kim Pan-gon.
The victory gives Selangor two wins from two matches, while Terengganu were left to suffer a frustrating defeat in front of their home supporters.
Selangor immediately looked the more dangerous side. Their first opportunity arrived in the 12th minute when Quentin Cheng connected with captain Faisal Halim’s delivery, but his effort sailed over the crossbar.
The visitors continued to control possession and created another opening in the 33rd minute.
Jefferson Tabinas delivered a corner towards Safuwan Baharudin, but the Singapore-born defender could not keep his header down.
Terengganu’s biggest chance of the opening period arrived three minutes later.
Gervane Kastaneer, a forward with Curaçao World Cup experience, received a pass from Victor Ruiz and unleashed a powerful shot.
However, Terengganu were denied by a crucial defensive intervention from Arbenit Xhemajli, who got in the way to protect goalkeeper Sikh Izhan Sikh Azman.
Selangor almost broke the deadlock in the 42nd minute through Chrigor Moraes.
The Brazilian forward’s powerful strike beat the goalkeeper but crashed against the crossbar.
Terengganu then produced another late opening when Manuel Ott tried to create danger, but Selangor’s defence dealt with the threat.
The teams went into the break level at 0-0.
The breakthrough finally arrived in the 58th minute. Selangor’s Hugo Boumous saw his effort parried by Terengganu goalkeeper Rahadiazli Rahalim, but Dutch forward Kay Tejan reacted fastest to the rebound and Tejan fired home from close range to give Selangor a 1-0 lead.
Four minutes later, Selangor doubled their advantage. Boumous again played a key role, releasing Chrigor Moraes, who embarked on a powerful solo run before calmly finishing past Rahadiazli.
The victory was briefly overshadowed by a worrying moment in the 75th minute. Selangor goalkeeper Sikh Izhan was forced to leave the field after colliding with Terengganu attacker Romel Morales.
The goalkeeper required hospital treatment and was replaced by Muhammad Azim Kamaruddin.
Despite the disruption, Selangor maintained their defensive organisation and refused to surrender their two-goal advantage.
Terengganu pushed forward during the closing stages in search of a way back into the match.
Instead, Selangor delivered the final blow in stoppage time. Chrigor Moraes completed his brace with his second goal of the night, securing a comprehensive 3-0 victory for the Red Giants.
The final whistle confirmed another impressive performance from Kim Pan-gon’s side.
Selangor now have six points from their opening two matches, establishing themselves as one of the early pace-setters in the 2026/27 Super League campaign.
